- Awards, certificates and testimonials that cannot be checked anywhere
What honest writing looks like instead
Honest material states limits as clearly as offerings. It says who the service is for and who it is not for. It explains the process and the fee structure before you make contact. It says outcomes vary and nothing is promised. It points people toward medical, psychological, legal or financial help where that is what is actually needed — even though doing so costs it business.
Check the practical details too
A real practice publishes a way to reach a person: a working telephone number, a contact page, terms, a privacy policy and a refund or cancellation position. Pages that offer only an anonymous form, or that change their name and photographs between sites, are a poor risk no matter how reassuring the copy reads.
How money should be handled
The full cost should be explained before you commit, and you should be free to think about it. If unexplained additional payments are demanded, pause and review the agreed scope. If you suspect fraud, contact your bank and the appropriate consumer or fraud authority.
